Fergusson Coal Prepack Fuel Distributor - 'Fuel
in a Bag' can enhance the profitability of a range
of businesses, particularly throughout the winter
season. In carefully structured field trials sales
of prepack fuel far exceeded the most optimistic
forecasts, confirming the profitable business opportunity
offered by this developing market.
Fergusson Coal relocated its import and export
facility to Hunterston Bulk Terminal in Ayrshire.
With an initial investment of £1.5
million in new preparation plant and a further £4 million
in stocks of specialist coals to provide a secure source of
supply, the large facility has been set up to handle increasing
demand from specialist industrial and domestic customers both
in the UK and abroad.
The new facility has also led to the creation
of additional jobs at Hunterston.
Hunterston has the facilities to handle large
vessels and provide an extensive area for processing and stocking
raw & finished coal products.
Fergusson Coal has designed the Hunterston facility
to process a wide variety of different coals to meet the specific
needs of customers in the industrial, domestic and international
markets.
